Abandoned Cottage with the broken gun option So in my experience, for a decent Anton & Cveta start you might look for: Afterwards, the game turns into a regular 3-man party, and perfectly and easily winnable. I was quite unlucky and got Arica very late - around day 18 or 19, but she couldn't have shown up at a better time, as I could finally double up the guards and fend off the crime wave. Then, I went do or die - I traded pretty much all of my meds and bandages for extra bullets, materials, etc. I believe that having this option gets you much closer to a successful run. Luckily, I had the abandoned cottage with the broken gun option - so I went straight towards upgrades for gun making.
This is crucial with only two guys, cause you can't defend as effectively. First, I went up and boarded up all windows.
I would say it was part luck, part careful planning. Yeah, they always pick on the weak and elderly.īut today I felt like tormenting myself with such a start again, and it worked. I know I did :) Once I had raids every day from 2 to 6, break on the 7th, then raids till the 10th, resulting in Anton eventually getting lethally wounded, using up all bandages, and eventually dying by day 16 during the crime wave, leaving a severely wounded Cveta all alone. This is a start that will make you ragequit a lot too. People tend to say that Anton can get better mouse trap food gain, but in my opinion, there is nothing of the sort. The built up home (if a second bed, chair and an armchair counts as built up) does not compensate for the hauling capacity. 8 item slots on both of them is also pitiful. While you're going to get plenty of help, this start comes complete with frequent raids, crime wave and a very possible wound spiral which you are most likely not able to avoid. The biggest problem of this start is that all odds are stacked against you. It requires a very different mindset than any other group, except for maybe the solo Marco start. Everyone who wants a challenge in This War of Mine, should absolutely try these two. I finally managed to get a win with this start.
